About us

In 2020, we made plans for our first trip together to Italy. We browsed real estate websites and set a goal on the horizon: by the end of 2023, we would move to Italy and open our Bed & Breakfast.

Then COVID put a temporary stop to those plans. They were put on hold for a while — but the dream remained just as big.

In September 2021, we were finally able to travel to Italy again. Through a real estate agent in Tuscany, we viewed five houses during that trip — purely to explore our options. Until one sunny afternoon when we arrived in Santa Fiora. There stood an old Tuscan farmhouse from the 1800s, surrounded by olive trees, fruit trees, and complete tranquility.

We didn’t need to say a word. One look at each other was enough:
This is our place.

After some calculations, discussions, and a lot of butterflies in our stomachs, we decided to just go for it.
Our house in the Netherlands was put up for sale, the farmhouse was purchased, and on March 31, 2022, with the key in our hands, we drove toward our new life.

2022 – The Start of Our Adventure:
The first year was entirely dedicated to clearing out, renovating, furnishing, and, above all, making plans: what would go where and what would it look like?
There were meetings with the agent, contracts were signed, measurements taken, and countless decisions made.
Amid all the work, we fortunately still had time to enjoy our new home — what a wonderful place we had found. And that starry sky… breathtakingly beautiful!

2023 – Renovating with a Fantastic Team:
In 2023, the contractor began renovating the old white barn, where two beautiful guest rooms would be created.
It was a major project, but thanks to an amazing construction team who stood by us every single day, progress moved faster than expected.
By October, the structure was already in place, and we could focus on the details and the atmosphere we wanted to create.

2024 – Completion, Furnishing, and Opening:
The terrace was built, the B&B rooms received their colors, décor, and furnishings.
Family members came to test-sleep, and in July 2024, we welcomed our first guests.

And with that, it became official:
– i due cipressi – Bed & Breakfast is open — our dream has become reality.
